“Photobiomodulation works at the cellular level — stimulating mitochondrial function, accelerating tissue repair, and reducing inflammatory signaling.”
— Dr. Michael Adams, DACM
The Celluma PRO uses specific wavelengths of light energy to trigger photochemical reactions within cells — a process called photobiomodulation. Red light (630–700nm) and near-infrared (800–880nm) penetrate tissue to stimulate mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase, driving increased ATP production and accelerating cellular repair processes. The mechanism is well-characterized in peer-reviewed literature and operates independently of heat.
Clinically studied for wound healing, joint pain, muscle recovery, and skin rejuvenation, light therapy sessions are painless and require no recovery time. At Core Meridian, light therapy is frequently combined with acupuncture or microneedling to amplify treatment outcomes — particularly for inflammatory conditions, post-procedure healing, and skin health goals.
Conditions Addressed
with Light Therapy
Tissue & Wound Repair
Near-infrared wavelengths penetrate deep tissue to accelerate healing of wounds, surgical sites, and musculoskeletal injuries by stimulating cellular repair mechanisms.
Joint & Muscle Pain
Red and near-infrared light reduce pain signaling, improve local circulation, and accelerate tissue repair in arthritic joints, tendonitis, and muscle injuries.
Post-Procedure Recovery
Applied after microneedling or acupuncture to accelerate healing, reduce post-treatment redness, and amplify the regenerative cascade initiated by the primary treatment.
Acne & Inflammation
Blue light wavelengths target acne-causing bacteria while red light reduces sebaceous inflammation, making this an effective non-antibiotic option for active breakouts.
Skin Health & Anti-Aging
Red light stimulates fibroblast activity and collagen synthesis, improving skin density, reducing fine lines, and restoring a healthier, more youthful complexion over time.
Cellular Energy & Recovery
Photobiomodulation stimulates mitochondrial ATP production, improving cellular energy availability for systemic recovery, fatigue reduction, and overall resilience.
